BAR Honda sign Adobe as Tech Supplier

BAR Honda have inked a deal with Adobe, signing up the computer software firm as a technology provider, joining such companies as Alcon, SAP and Avaya. The deal, which we understand will be announced formally at the Japanese Grand Prix, will see Adobe using the team as a working experiment for technology developments in Acrobat expected to make their way into the product through 2006.

This is likely to be along the lines of using Acrobat as a conduit for dynamic engineering data from track to Honda and the team, as well as suppliers, likely being carried over the Avaya IP system already in use.

In return, BAR Honda will start to use Adobe's creative software, including PhotoShop and Premiere, in generating artwork for promotional activities.

The deal is worth little financially, with guesses in the region of $250,000. There will be no Adobe branding on the car.
