Honda Racing F1's Jenson Button suffered an appalling Monaco Grand Prix weekend, with poor qualifying and race pace, and is keen to forget it ever happened. Starting from a disappointing 13th on the grid, Button's Honda RA106 proved reluctant to race, and the Englishman spent most of the race trailing round towards the rear of the field, at one point being behind the Honda powered Super Aguri of Takuma Sato.

"From where I was and the car I had it was just impossible in the first stint to do anything," Button told ITV. "Rubens was struggling with the same problem - we just lost the rear tyres completely. I had to stop a lot earlier than I wanted to because I lost three seconds or so with the tyres almost being bald."

"It was frustrating. We put new tyres on, took loads of front wing off, and the car was alright. I was then doing the same pace as DC and Michael."

Despite setting a faster lap time than Barrichello once the issues had been resolved, it was all too late.

"Exactly, especially when you've been lapped already," he added. "You're a bit screwed then.

"I'll try and forget this one."
