Following his points paying finish at Monaco, Honda Racing F1 driver Rubens Barrichello heads into the British Grand Prix knowing what he'll be capable of delivering. "We had a solid test in Barcelona last week to prepare for Silverstone," explained Rubens, "looking specifically at the car set-up and the tyres for this race, so I'm feeling fairly comfortable going into the weekend."

While the team failed to top the time sheets in Barcelona, the huge number of miles, and consistent times, is reason for optimism, allied to some new engine developments from Honda that will increase both torque and power. With over 70% of the lap being on full throttle, and with a mix of both fast sweeping corners and tight slow turns, the combination of both drive elements are vital at Silverstone, although aerodynamics plays a major part.

Silverstone itself is what appeals to many drivers, with the Northamptonshire circuit a favourite due to it's fast, flowing layout. The different areas of the track provide a genuine challenge, even if the area around is somewhat unromantic.

"Silverstone is just a fantastic circuit," enthuses Rubens. "It's a high-speed track with some challenging corners, and although overtaking can be a bit difficult around here, it's a track that I really enjoy driving.

"I've spent a great deal of time both testing and racing at Silverstone since I was young, so it holds some special memories for me," he adds. "Of course the most special of those is my win from pole position back in 2003."

Let's hope for a repeat of that performance.
