Yesterday we were told that Christijan Albers had admitted in a TV interview that he wasn't going to be driving with Spyker MF1 next season. F1-Live have published a counter-story claiming that the Dutchman *has* signed with the team for 2007.

F1-Live claim that Albers enjoys a close business relationship with the Spyker MF1 team's new boss Michiel Mol, through a personal sponsorship deal promoting the internet company Lost Boys. In addition, the popular news site claims outright that Albers has a signed contract with the team, but stops short of telling us the source of this information.

The Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper is also quoted by the site, amid claims that the Dutchman's contract contains clauses that allow him to leave the team if he is offered a position within a works F1 team. The paper also claims, the site says, that current team mate Tiago Monteiro's future is very uncertain with the Spyker MF1 team.

This is in complete contradiction to an interview on Dutch TV revealed by visitors to Midland F1 Online yesterday, where Christijan is reported to have said that he will not be driving for Spyker next season.

Recently Christijan announced that he would make an announcement concerning his future at the Japanese Grand Prix, and I can't help but wonder whether all of this is simply fuelled by growing speculation by the media. After all, does anyone know when that particular TV interview was actually recorded and in what context the interview was conducted? They claim that Big Brother is reality TV, but you only get to see and hear what the editor wants you to. Makes you think doesn't it?

No doubt this particular story line will continue for the next five weeks until Christijan finally tells all.
