This has not been extensively picked up by the mass F1 media yet, but this evening I have found a smattering of reports indicating that Spyker are spearheading a fight against teams that have not built their own chassis. It would appear that no agreement on this has been reached either. Recently in his first F1Racing.net column team principal Colin Kolles clearly indicated his stance on the issue of whether teams should be allowed to run chassis that were not designed or built by themselves. He also indicated that there was a meeting of team principals that would attempt to resolve the issue.

Tonight, several F1 news sources are reporting that this meeting took place last Friday with Spyker leading the way on the whole argument. Reportedly Spyker are threatening to take legal action with regard to the cars being fielded by Torro Rosso and Super Aguri.

I have also read reports stating that 'Motorsport Aktuell' are claiming that F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone stepped into the discussion at the meeting, trying to field a compromise which was flatly rejected.

It is unclear from this evenings reports as to exactly how many teams are involved in this arguement, or whether it is Spyker F1 alone that is voicing the complaint.

It is felt bt the media at this time that the issue may be left unresolved until the first race of the season, where a complaint could be lodged with the stewards of the race as to the legality of the Torro Rosso and Super Aguri cars.

Personally I hope that this issue doesn't come to a head in Australia, as that would be a rotten way to see in the 2007 season.
