The F8-VIIb will make its track debut at the German Grand Prix, one month before the Turkish Grand Prix which was the teams original plan.

Mike Gascoyne told the official Spyker site that the revisions to the car will be significant.  The current car will continue to be worked on with updates planned for Barcelona and Monaco.  This means that the upgrade will be introduced race by race with the full package completed by Germany.

"It's a new rear end, new gearbox, new radiator layout, new bodywork, and so on.  We already know that aerodynamically it will be a fairly major step, and there will be a big improvement in the stability of the rear of the car.  We're going from rotary to linear dampers; when I was at Toyota we found that change to be a big step forward in terms of controlling the rear of the car. So we're pretty confident that we'll make progress."

The squad will now fall in line with the rest of the grid in respect to testing for the remainder of the 2007 season after admitting that it's lack of winter testing did hurt the development of the James Key design.
