Seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher set the fastest time of everyone today on his return to Formula 1, one year after his retirement from racing. The German became quickly accustomed to Ferrari's F2007 and relished the opportunity to drive a car modified in line with the 2008 regulations on a day complete with its fair share of interruptions.

Three red flags were caused by the newly-liveried Force India cars - two by Giedo van der Garde and one by Roldan Rodriguez.

Despite these setbacks to the team's running, both drivers accumulated a total 171 laps in the Spyker F8-VII.
