After the infamous crash which cruelly ended Adrian Sutil's chances of achieving a best-ever F1 result, Mike Gascoyne informed reporters that they would be asking the race stewards to look into the incident. However, the stewards have carried out their investigations and decided that no action needed to be taken.

Their statement read, "The Stewards after hearing the explanation of both the Competitors representatives and the drivers decided that the incident requires no further action."

Instead they issued a caution to the out-of-luck Adrian Sutil saying that he passed Barrichello, Piquet and Nakajima on lap 13 under yellow flags.

"The stewards do warn the driver of car no.20 as to his future behaviour in relation to appendix H, Chapter 2, Article 4.1.2b of the International Sporting Code."
