Swap you! Maybe?

Director of Business Affairs Ian Phillips has been quoted today saying the Giancarlo Fisichella will move to Ferrari to deputise for the injured Felipe Massa and that the move would take place within the next 24 hours.

Bizzare however as GP Update.Net are saying that an official press release from the team says to ignore any comments made by Phillips.

Both Fisichella and his manager interviewed after yesterdays stunning Belgian Grand Prix denied that anyone from Ferrari had been in touch with them to discuss such a move. Phillips says that Vijay Malliya should expect a call to agree the move.

An unoffical press statement from the team says that Ian Phillips do not refect the views of the Force India team management.  He is not the dedicated spokesman for the team and is not authorised to speak to the media.  (A strange statement as he is quite often heard during BBC Radio 5 Live's UK commentary for Friday practice sessions.)

The statement continues "His comments should therefore be ignored.  We completely deny as baseless, whatever is reportedly attributed to him in reports that have appeared in a section of the press a short while ago."

Fisichella is contracted to Force India until the end of 2009.  No doubt given the weekends upturn in performance, his stock will have risen too. 

You have to question however why a team like Ferrari would look at Giancarlo now, after all of his years in Formula One and after just this one race?

Fisichella move? Yes? No? Er??

i think Fisi will take the drive if offered. i guess any one would ...
in the mean time FI can evaluate Liuzzi or any young driver for the rest of the season.

Well, if FI manage to seal a deal to share any profits from the performances of Fisi in Ferrari, I don't know why we shouldn't do it and try Vito in the vacant car.

After all, we don't know where is Fisi and Sutil going to end up next year.

The only gripe is that Monza might actually be a good circuit for us, an we have to maximize our chances of passing renault in the standings... (imagine Alonso's face if and when that happens!)
