Sure bet?

It's been a few days since Force India confirmed that they would release Giancarlo Fisichella to live his dream, driving for Ferrari for the rest of the season. The team have been quite quiet on who will replace him in the second seat.

The smart money would be on the teams reserve driver Antonio Luizzi.  Clearly, a proven racing driver, someone who knows the team, how they operate and someone who has driven the car (albeit in straight line testing).

However, the anouncement delay suggests that the team are perhaps looking at other options.  Maybe someone that wants to pay to drive the car for at least the last five races of the year.  So is Antonio the shue in for the drive or would there be someone else.

How about:

(1) Anthony Davidson.
The former Super-Aguri driver who lost his seat when the team folded rather than anything he did on track.  Davidson has been commentating on practice sessions with Radio 5 Live and joined there on occasion by a certain Mr Ian Phillips (Director of Business Affairs).  A tenuous link perhaps but Davidson's racing credentials are hard to beat.  A very good driver in an underperforming car before the team folded and perhaps an outside bet for the seat.

(2) Gary Paffett
Currently being touted by Lewis Hamilton, the Mclaren Mercedes reservist could be a good bet in view of the current engine deal with Mercedes.  This could be his best chance to impress in F1.

(3) Narain Karthikeyan
Long shot, but an Indian driver to capitalise on the current success of the team.  Currently racing in A1GP for Team India, Narain has won a number of races but as a driver previously linked with Force India and their previous incarnation Jordan Grand Prix, again a longshot.

(4) Bruno Senna
With quite possibly the largest F1 boots to fill, Bruno has yet to achieve a competitive drive in a Formula One car.  With five races left in the season, could there be a better chance for the team to grab more headlines by putting the nephew of the great Ayrton Senna into the driving seat.

Clearly the team will have offers coming out of their ears at the moment, hence the delay in making an announcement.  Still, we'll find out in the next few days as to who gets the call.

I read in some Finnish website, that Russian GP2 driver Petrov is also a possibility...for pay driver, I am sure...
