Several internet sources have been interpreting a quote in Italy’s Autosprint magazine as a sign that Dallara are no long involved in Midland’s 2006 F1 racer. The company have been working hard to develop the car, but are now reportedly taking a lesser role.
Giampaolo Dallara is quoted from Autosprint as saying "The car that will race in 2006 will be designed and built by Jordan. Within a couple of years we'll be able to know whether Shnaider's choice was right or not."
Giampaolo also states that with the Jordan factory facilities at Silverstone, the team should be able to undertake both the design and build of a race car (didn’t Jordan do it that way anyway ?). He also indicated that Dallara’s involvement had shrunk into a support role for the team, despite their contract being until the end of 2005. There is an option for the contract to be extended into 2006, but internet sources are suggesting that this is unlikely based on todays news.
