Midland's Friday driver Giorgio Mondini is to take the wheel of the Swiss A1 Grand Prix car for the final two rounds of the inaugural championship.
Neel Jani, the Swiss teams current driver is to swap to F1 with Scuderia Torro Rosso, so our Swiss test driver will be taking the wheel at the A1 races in the USA and China.
Just 28 points behind the French series leaders and lying in second place,
the Swiss team are confident that Giorgio can close the gap.
Max Welti, the Swiss team principal said "The team is in a strong position in
the championship and we are working hard to close the gap to A1 Team France.
I'm confident Giorgio Mondini will settle into the team quickly and will be the
perfect driver to continue building our challenge for the title."
Midland F1 Online are keen to see how Giorgio takes to an A1 car in preparation for his driving stint with Midland.
