Site supporter, and frequent forum contributor, Gailen has made no secret of his working relationship with Midland F1 Racing and has very kindly been able to steer popular debate without breaking any confidence with the team.

On a recent trip to the airport, Gailen kindly put to James some questions that had been asked on the forum, and James very kindly answered them. I thought that this was so superb, that I just had to share it with a greater audience.

Remember, this is a senior member of the Midland F1 Racing team who is prepared to answer questions direct from the fans. Mighty impressive!

Our thanks go to the fans on the forum for asking a great suite of questions, Gailen for actually being prepared to ask them, and lastly to James who took the time and the trouble to answer them.

Q. Ask James if M16 is capable of challenging STRs?
A. YES

Q. Also, if possible, ask him if there is going to be updates for Monaco, Canada, Hungary as those are quite specific tracks?
A. YES, YES and YES

Q. How many new engine revisions are planned for the season?
A. TO BE ANNOUNCED, BUT WE'VE ALREADY HAD ONE UPGRADE

Q. Are Bridgestone's (tyres) as good as Michelin's?
A. YES, BRIDGESTONE ARE MUCH CLOSER THIS YEAR

Q. When will (the) Midland boys start to start faster?
A. WE WERE MUCH QUICKER AT NURBURGRING AND THIS (TREND) SHOULD CONTINUE

Q. Why are the Super Aguri's are so quick on the straights?
A. THE HONDA ENGINE IS GOOD. THEIR CAR HAS LOWER DOWNFORCE THAN THE OTHER TEAMS WHICH IS LIKELY TO COME WITH LESS DRAG. (Note from Gailen: JAMES WAS TAKU'S RACE ENGINEER WHEN HE WAS AT JORDAN AND DESCRIBES TAKU AS A VERY BRAVE DRIVER WHO HAS ALWAYS BEEN A GOOD STARTER)

Q. At the begining of the season they (Midland F1) talked (about the fact that) 3 major updates would be made (throughout the season). Is the Nurburgring one of them?
A. FIRST UPDATE WAS IMOLA - OTHERS TO BE ANNOUNCED
