Kubica starts Jerez test for BMW-Sauber

Today the BMW Sauber F1 Team started testing at Jerez, one day after the other teams. It has not been revealed why the schedule changed, because at first it was planned to start on tuesday, with Vettel driving. But today it was Kubica running, who had a successful test.

Day one – Wednesday

Robert Kubica Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.07-06 / BMW P86/7 V8 Test kilometres today: 456 km (103 laps) Fastest lap: 1:20.709 min on lap 5

Programme: The team had a very successful day in the heat of Jerez. The scheduled programme was completed, and this included testing new aero parts for the forthcoming races, as well as working on the set-up and new suspension components.

Weather conditions: hot and sunny

Temperatures: Air: 23-35°C, Track: 26-47°C

Number of cars participating: 8

Fastest lap overall: Lewis Hamilton, McLaren Mercedes, 1:19.670 min Circuit Distance: 4.428km

What comes next: For the second and final day of the BMW Sauber F1 Team’s test Robert Kubica will continue with a similar programme, which will include more set-up work for Hungary and development work on systems.
