The long awaited moment has arrived. Finally has BMW Sauber introduced new visible and significant updates to the aerodynamics of the F1.09 contender. No less than a new rear wing (at least with a more advanced-looking endplates) and an engine cover with shark-fin shape, almost identical to Renault's.

Incidentally the way the way the rear wing ednplates end reminds abit to a Williams design of a few years ago, the FW27, although the F1.09's have a slightly more pronounced profile.

Also notice the sidepods shape. Surprisingly (or not!) Williams have gone exactly the same way as BMW, this week, changing their sculpted and abrupt high shoulder shape for a smoother version than resembles more to the F1.09's.

Though, the most eagerly awaited update is the new front wing. Much has been speculated about its arrival. At first we expected it to come  at the very begining of this week's test in Barcelona, but it seems we will have to wait a bit, perhaps even till Australia, to see it.

There is no doubt about its introduction, as part of the first 4 fly-away races package, together with other updates in the bodywork and turning vane aera, as well as diffuser. The reason is that the front wing currently used by BMW Sauber is almost identical to the one first debuted in the F1.08B interim car back in November. In fact the only two modifications made to this wing were two small "lips" in the lower main profile, just between the FIA standarized area and the "open to development" one, as well as two small (around 4cm tall) vertical fences in the same area, but above the main plane.

So we can expect a brand new wing, with more elaborated endplates, upper flaps and inside separators, as well as the main profile's modification.
