April 1 2009
A member of our site, which we cannot mention, revealed us what somehow could be a boom for the BMW Sauber camp.
Apparently that's it, as sources related to sponsorhip agency in Poland, who is currently finalising some advertising and media contracts involving Kubica and his new sponsor, claim... All we can tell the company is working on broadcast sponsorship deal with TV for races as early as.... June!!!
That seems to be the main reason why Brawn could not agree Brunno Senna deal with his Brasilian sponsors. They had pre-agreed obligations toward that seat. Barrichello agreed to a rolling (race by race) contract, as he had nothing better to choose from other than retirement.
Kubica's management agreed, during late summer, when Kubica was extramely dissapointed with Team, a conditional deal with BMW Sauber for 2009 when Kubica was extremely dissapointed with Team. The deal says he can leave before mid season, if BMW is behind Honda as per performance measures defined in 2009 option contract.
The additional condition is that if Kubica decides to take an option of moving, he will have to pay back a compensation fee from 6 months prior move.
The deal, that seems to be purely academic for whole winter, got new fuel in, due to what happened when performance of both teams was revealed in the season opener.
Remember. You heard it first here...
It may become an April Fools story...or it may not. Future will tell.
