Robert Kubica ended the second free practice at the Belgian Grand Prix as eighth fastest. Team-mate Nick Heidfeld finished 16th in the list of best times on Friday afternoon in Spa-Francorchamps. Unlike the morning practice, the entire 90-minute session was held in dry conditions. The BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers waited just seconds before heading out onto the track at Spa-Francorchamps for the second practice - and returned to the pit lane after as little as five minutes. The reason: the stewards interrupted the afternoon practice after Ferrari driver Luca Badoer had lost a wheel cover going into turn 17. A few minutes later the obstacle had been removed and the cars streamed back out onto the track.

Robert subsequently completed another five stints, notching up 33 laps in total. His best time was clocked at 1:47.578 minutes, putting the Pole in eighth place. Nick left the pit lane another four times to complete 30 laps. A time of 1:48.017 minutes meant 16th place for the German.

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton ended the second practice at the "Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps" with the fastest time: 1:47.201 minutes.

First up on Saturday is another practice session at 11:00 CET, before the BMW Sauber F1 Team enters qualifying three hours later, looking for good grid positions for the twelfth Formula One Grand Prix of the year.
