In last weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, Robert Kubica delivered a good debut F1 race performance and finished seventh. The fact that he was disqualified a short time later, for dropping below the minimum weight, tempered the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver's joy only for a short time

Robert came close to securing two World Championship points in his debut Grand Prix. However, his worn-out tyres brought an end to the young Pole's hopes, as they made his car's weight drop below the stipulated minimum. The result: He was disqualified and stripped of his hard won points. "The disqualification was very frustrating," says Robert, "But I am happy that I was able to show some good driving."

In his final stint, Robert completed 51 laps on one set of tyres. Earlier in the race, he spun twice but battled his way back following each of these incidents to finish seventh. "Towards the end of the race it became really tough," reveals the GP newcomer, "But I managed to finish the race in seventh place. I am happy that I could fight with more experienced opponents on the track and in fact beat some of them in a straight fight."

With the Hungarian Grand Prix over, Formula One enters its summer break. Furthermore, the teams have to cope with a three-week testing ban. Following the break, in late August, the BMW Sauber F1 Team travels to Istanbul for the Turkish Grand Prix, representing Robert's second Formula One race at the wheel of the BMW Sauber F1.06. "I hope for a lot more nice moments in Formula One," he concludes.
