Following the Hungarian Grand Prix, Formula One entered its three-week summer break, which traditionally marks the start of the "Silly Season". During this period the teams begin work on the organisation for the rest of the year and the following season. The BMW Sauber F1 Team has already set the course for the five remaining rounds of the season. Robert Kubica, the team's previous test and reserve driver, is to contest the final rounds of the season as team-mate to Nick Heidfeld.

Apart from the BMW Sauber F1 Team's "driver swap", other teams have also begun their planning for the 2007 season. At the end of the day, the "Silly Season" is running flat-out. And for most of the teams, the main focus is set on driver pairings for next year.

Three new driver deals have already been fixed: reigning World Champion Fernando Alonso leaves Renault for McLaren, Williams test driver Alex Wurz has been promoted by the English squad and will be make his comeback as Grand Prix driver next year, teaming up with former Formula BMW Champion Nico Rosberg. While his predecessor, Mark Webber, joins Red Bull Racing as team-mate to David Coulthard. And you can expect many more moves on the driver market to come. So, even when the cars aren't racing, Formula One continues to produce pure excitement.
