Next weekend, Robert Kubica will enter the Turkish Grand Prix, the second Formula One race of his career. Following the eventful debut race he experienced during the Hungarian GP in Budapest, the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver is hoping to attend a similarly exciting event. "Of course I am very much looking forward to my second Formula One race. After the Hungarian Grand Prix I was not too happy about my driving because I made some mistakes. On the other hand, I saw others made mistakes under these conditions too, and I was also able to show some good driving. However, I learnt a lot in Hungary and this will help for the next Grand Prix."

The Turkish Grand Prix represents a premiere for Robert for two reasons. So far, the Pole has not competed on the "Istanbul Speed Park" or ever visited the Turkish metropolis. Although he only witnessed last year's Turkish GP on TV, he was able to receive a first impression of the track. "I appreciated the layout of the track that provides overtaking opportunities, which always make for good racing," Robert assessed.

His recent emergence in the echelon of motorsport has catapulted the youngster to instant stardom in his home country of Poland. Robert has detected a similar development in Turkey, which is, however, independent of a single driver in his opinion. "I have the impression that in Turkey the interest in F1 is increasing, as is the case in Poland now. Things change as soon as people have a relation to the sport - either due to a Grand Prix or a driver."
