The fan base of BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica is growing larger and larger. Peter Sauber, advisor of the BMW Sauber F1 Team, is also impressed by the young Pole's development.
Over the course of the season, Robert had already been able to impress Formula One experts with his performances for the BMW Sauber F1 Team in the Friday practice sessions. Ever since his third place in Monza, however, the 21-year-old has become a household name for every Formula One fan.
Looking back to the Italian GP, Peter Sauber comments: "He managed to catapult himself from sixth grid position to third place thanks to an aggressive yet controlled start. Then he was able to fend off the pressure of Felipe Massa in the Ferrari lap for lap without making even the slightest mistake. That was an outstanding performance."
"In the past, he was often forced to use second rate material due to his limited financial possibilities," Sauber continues. "You really had to take a closer look to discover his qualities. However, it was definitely worth our while."
The former Sauber team principal sees no reason to worry about Robert's future. The Swiss is convinced of the qualities of the young Pole. "This was only the beginning; the best is yet to come. Robert has huge potential," Sauber exclaims.
