On Saturday morning, Sao Paulo local time, the BMW Sauber F1 Team successfully completed the final practice session of the 2006 Formula One season. In the third free practice for the Brazilian GP, Robert Kubica secured fourth place with Nick Heidfeld finishing tenth. At temperatures of about 20 degrees Celsius under heavily overcast skies, the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers used the opportunity to gather additional data for the tyre choice and completed the set-up work on the BMW Sauber F1.06s.

Altogether, Nick and Robert did a total of 35 laps, thus increasing the team's practice mileage to 127 laps. Robert completed three stints and 20 laps respectively to set a personal fastest lap time of 1:12.535 minutes. The Pole finished fourth. Nick (three stints, 15 laps) took tenth place on the time sheets with a fastest personal lap time of 1.13.037 minutes. The quickest driver in the third free practice session was Ferrari's Felipe Massa who lapped the 4.309-kilometre "Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace" in 1:11.443 minutes.

Now, the BMW Sauber F1 Team focuses on the qualifying session starting at 14:00hrs local time (18:00hrs BST). The goal for Nick and Robert is to bring both cars into top-ten qualifying for the seventh time this season.
