BMW Sauber starts testing at Barcelona

Today the Team started to test after a long non-GP period. This test is a preparation for the coming Spanish GP, the first European race of the season, that will take place in the same circuit next week.

 

30th April – 2nd May 2007
Day one – Monday

Programme:   The team had a very productive first day at the test. With the Spanish Grand Prix at this track next week, the team concentrated on set-up work for this first European race of the season. There were new parts on the car which the team hope will increase its performance.

Test kilometres today:  342 km (74 laps)  
Fastest lap: 1:22.114 min    

Weather conditions: Dry and sunny Temperatures: Air: 18-20°C, Track: 27-37°C  

Number of cars participating: 13 
Fastest lap overall: 1:21.195 min, Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari

What comes next:   Nick will drive again on day two. The weather will play a major role in what is tested, as the forecast is not good. However, even if it does rain the team will continue to prepare for the race
