In the second free practice session for the British GP, Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld successfully continued the BMW Sauber F1 Team's preparations for the remainder of the weekend. The pairing covered a total of 75 laps, with Robert finishing 13th and Nick 15th.
The second free practice session of the British Grand Prix weekend turned out to be one of the busiest of the entire season, for the Munich and Hinwil based squad. On the way to continuing the set-up work and the tyre evaluations, Robert completed a total of five stints and 41 laps respectively, while Nick lapped the 5.141-kilometre "Silverstone Circuit" 34 times, over the course of his five stints.
As usual in the second Friday sessions, the BMW Sauber F1 Team fully focused on the preparation work and didn't focus on setting impressive lap times.
At the end of the day, Robert posted a personal fastest lap time of 1:22.372 minutes to finish 13th and Nick took 15th position on the time sheets, with his 1:22.468-minute lap.
Ferrari's Kimi Räikkönen was the quickest man of the session. With his 1.20.639-minute lap he was 0.499 seconds faster than the runner-up, his team-mate Felipe Massa.
In the third free practice session, held on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00hrs BST, Robert and Nick will complete their preparations for the remainder of the weekend.
