Spa test Day1: Kubica on action

After the Silverstone race, the BMW Sauber Team returned to work, this time for testing.It was Robert’s first time driving a Formula One car in Spa. However, as usual, it didn’t take him long to get familiar with the track. .

10th – 12th July 2007

Day one – Tuesday

Robert Kubica Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.07-06 / BMW P86/7 V8 Test kilometres today: 567 km (81 laps) Fastest lap: 1:47.059 min

Programme: Kubica worked mainly on the set-up in preparation for the Belgian Grand Prix, trying different mechanical and aerodynamic settings. In addition, he tested new mechanical components which revealed some promising results. He had a trouble-free day and completed 81 laps.

Weather conditions: All day cloudy but dry

Temperatures: Air: 12-19°C, Track: 15-36°C

Number of cars participating: 11

Fastest lap overall: Lewis Hamilton, McLaren-Mercedes, 1:46.613 min

What comes next: Robert will continue driving tomorrow and on Thursday. The programme will depend on the weather situation because the forecast is predicting changing conditions.
