Bridgestone has announced the tyre compounds to be used in a further four races in the 2009 Formula One season. The Japanese tyre manufacturer has developed new products to cope with the specific demands of the Monaco Grand Prix. Bridgestone has unveiled its tyre choices for the Grands Prix from Monaco through to Germany. "Our allocations for the next four races from Monaco onwards are based on the data we have collected so far, and the extensive knowledge we have of the race venues we visit," explains Hirohide Hamashima, Bridgestone Director of Motorsport Tyre Development.

Looking ahead to Monaco, the Japanese announced that Bridgestone will present a new tyre in the Mediterranean principality. "Due to the unique characteristics of track, we will bring the super soft and soft tyres, which are next to each other in terms of softness, and also both from our low temperature working range family," says Hamashima. "Our new intermediate tyre compound will debut at Monaco, and we will use this for the rest of the season. It is a softer compound and will allow more mechanical grip."

Confirmed tyre compounds for the 2009 Formula One season:

Monaco Grand Prix (Monte Carlo): super soft, soft
Turkish Grand Prix (Istanbul): soft, hard
British Grand Prix (Silverstone): soft, hard
German Grand Prix (Nürburgring): super soft, medium
