Australian GP in a new light

In Melbourne Robert Kubica was heading for the podium when a collision with Sebastian Vettel put him out of the race shortly before the end. While Vettel was punished for his misdemeanour, Robert's world championship points cannot be replaced. The missing score still irks the Pole five races on. "Normally I am able to move on quickly after a race," says Robert. "But there I was disappointed because I lost a lot of points. They were important. It is difficult to score points in future. But, that is racing. That was the first race of the season, and that is it."

Robert shone by setting the second-fastest lap of the race - despite the performance of some opposition cars being markedly better. "I don't believe any of the audience in Australian had a realistic picture of where we stood with our car," says the 23-year-old. "I think I delivered a good performance in Australia."
