Di Resta - Nerves for Grand Prix Debut

Paul di Resta makes his Grand Prix debut on Friday substituting for Adrian Sutil in the first practice session for the Australian Grand Prix. Coverage of the session can be seen on the BBC Red Button service from 1.30am. He has been talking to the BBC's reporter Sarah Holt.
"I'm going to be nervous as it's a whole different situation for me, But somewhere along the line these Friday sessions should show people what I'm made of and what I can achieve on the race track. I've never driven this car in the dry before. I'll take a different approach as it has to be constructive running. I'll have to build myself up slowly. "
He continued "Melbourne is one of the most difficult places to come; I was quite shocked by some of the areas but it's different when you're out on track. I'm not really sure what to expect, hopefully it will all run smoothly and I'll sit down with the engineers and see how to move forward."
Paul has not driven at Albert Park before but has done some time in the simulator, getting a feel for the layout of the track. He's also walked the circuit with the rest of the team and his engineer to check the lie of the land.
Both Adrian and Tonio will miss alternate practice sessions to enable Paul to gain track time and experience in a Formula One car. Tonio will actually sit out next weeks practice day at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
"Paul has lots of potential but the question is how can he use this potential?" said Vijay Mallya. "This is a good solution all round. The race drivers are supportive of the move - they've all been young drivers at one time."
