According to French newspaper Le Parisien, Bob Bell has admitted that the drivers in contention for the 2nd seat at Renault were Heidfeld, Kobayashi and Kovalainen. However the latter was confirmed at Lotus today. The article claims too that Robert Kubica will stay, and that the team, which will continue with the Renault name until 2011, will announce the buyout on Wednesday.

 In our view, nevertheless, Heidfeld won't be announced on Wednesday in any way, as he is still waiting for Mercedes' decision, and the Sauber team is high on his list too. But surely, if the MercedesGP option fails -be it Schumacher or, who knows, Kubica who "steal" that seat- the Renault option may not be that bad.

Interestingly in Le Parisien's article Bob Bell affirms that Kubica will remain at the team despite the shares sale; some hours earlier Morelli, Robert Kubica's manager, said that  the Polish driver would be free to leave the team if the team is sold, and while admitting he hadn't had negotiations yet, did reveal that literally "we have been called" -arguably MercedesGP-.

While I would welcome Nick to teammate Kubica again, I think Koba chances are still good. Remember Renault owns Nissan, so they can figure the way to use Koba in Japan for that.
