Renault betting on fuel!

Fabrice Lom, Engine Race Engineer of Renault F1 Driver Jarno Trulli may have outlined the main advantage that Renault is betting on at the upcoming Canadian GP. Renault does not have lots of hopes on the upcoming Grand Prix. Montreal is well known to be an engine track and the Anglo-French squad has clearly shown that the engine is the area where they are struggling.

Besides an engine upgrade Jarno Trulli stated some days ago that they expected to struggle at Canada:

"Canada could be one of the Grands Prix where we could be struggling more than on other circuits, just because there are very long straights. That's the only issue. We know that our chassis should be very good on that track, but on the other hand the straights can cost you a lot of time. In fact Canada could be one of the worst for us, and on all the rest, more or less, we should be competitive." He told recently Autosport Online.

Very recently Fabrice Lom outlined one of the advantages that Renault may have at the Gilles Villeneuve track:

"Fuel consumption is crucial in Canada: this is where the teams will use most fuel of all the seventeen races in the championship. Consequently, a fuel efficient engine and/or a car with a large fuel tank could make a vital difference." He said.

Renault is known as one of the teams with the best fuel consumption on the grid and they will be sure to use as many advantages as possible on their quest to regain 3rd place on the constructors standings.
