The driver from Pescara had a great weekend that saw him qualify 4th and to finish third after leading for the first laps. His move at the start was a great one as he was able to overtake both Takuma Sato, Juan Pablo Montoya and Michael Schumacher for the lead. Even Michael Schumacher was impressed with Jarno's start:

"Obviously Jarno made an impressive start, not much I could do about that one, there wasn't much of a battle. I was trying, as he was inside, to maybe creep back and try what Rubens did with me last year and outbrake me on the outside, but Jarno was pushing very hard into the first corner and didn't give me a chance." Said Schumacher on the press conference after the race.

Trulli was very happy after the finish:

"I'm a bit emotional actually. There were thousands of spectators at the circuit this weekend, and most of them were in Renault colours and hoping to see our cars do well. Of course, they were there for Fernando, but as his team-mate, I also got incredible support all weekend. They gave me an ovation on the podium, which was a great feeling. From my point of view, after all our hard work during the past few seasons, Sunday's result was a good reward. Hard work always pays." Trulli said.

Jarno miss in a podiyum at the Malaysian Grand Prix when he was faced with traffic after a pit stop and he had to finish 4th. This time, however, everything went fine:

"A result like this had slipped away from me for various reasons, but at Barcelona, everything went to plan. I made a dream start, managed to keep Michael's Ferrari behind until the first stop even though I knew he was much faster, and then I lapped consistently to make sure of the podium finish. I am looking forward to repeating it as soon as possible!" He added.

Jarno is ready now for his first win and he is sure that monaco should suit well his R24:

"I am still waiting to score my first pole, and first win: maybe we can do it there! I think our car should suit the circuit, and I have always enjoyed racing in the Principality. The secret to success? That will be the same as always: giving 100% throughout the weekend." He concluded.
