Spanish driver Fernando Alonso is quite dissapointed to have seen the second place on the Championship gone. With only one race remaining and 16 points of difference in favour of BAR, Renault's chances of regaining 2nd place on the Constructor's Championship are close to none. Fernando Alonso, in an interview after the race at Suzuka was clear about the reasons of why BAR are in front:

"Second place was won by BAR. They are 16 points ahead. They have a better car than ours and there is nothing we can do." He said.

However, the Spaniard is willing to give his bestr on the last Grand Prix and he has aimed for the podium:

"In Brazil I'll go for the podium. With a good qualifying run and a good start you are sudenly on the fight for the podium and in Brazil we will have another chance for sure". Said the Spaniard.

Despite finishing 5th at the Japanese Grand Prix Alonso was quite happy with the race:

"I value this race as one of my best. I started 11th after the weather hurt me at the qualifying and I finished 5th." He added. "In China I did the 10th fastest lap and I finished 4th and here I did the 12th and ended up 5th. This is something very rare so I am happy with it."
