No Fisichella Swap

Giancarlo Fisichella's manager Enrico Zanarini has spoken out about rumours that Fisichella is on the verge of a swap deal with Williams pilot Mark Webber who is managed by renault boss Falvio Briatore.
Rumours in the paddock have been consistently saying that Williams star Mark Webber will move to Renault in 2006 and be united with his manager and Renault boss Flavio Briatore and swap seats with Renault driver Giancarlo Fisichella who would head the opposite way to the Williams team who will be powered by Cosworth.
These stories have come about because of a difficult year for Fisi who won the first race of the year but as of then struggled because of reliability problems of the R25 and what can be described as awful luck in some of the races.

The rumours has forced Fisichella's manager to come out and deny the comments,

"I’ve no idea where it came from,” said Zanarini.

“For sure you’ve got to have two drivers agreeing and wanting to swap. I don’t know if Webber wants to swap or not, but we certainly don’t.

“It’s a very strong rumour, but we’ve never discussed it with anybody. It’s never even put in the picture. There’s no swap.”

“A few results on the board in the next year and a half will change people’s minds. Things here in F1 change on a daily basis.”

Giancarlo does have a contract with the Renault team for 2006 and hopefully we will see the Roman in the car showing everybody what he can do with better reliability and a change in fortune!
