Flav: Rivals will Struggle in 2007

Renault Boss Flavio Briatore has claimed to La Gazzetta dello Sport that their closest and arch rivals Ferrari and Mclaren Mercedes will struggle in the 2007 season even with both teams having top regarded drivers such as Kimi Raikkonen and Champion Fernando Alonso Flavio Briatore was asked about Mclaren Mercedes Chances of glory next season with having ex-Renault Driver and Double world champion Fernando Alonso,

“It will be a tough year for them,” the Italian said by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“They have always had fantastic drivers like [Kimi] Raikkonen, and they always announce them early to demonstrate they’re changing.

“But this year the book of excuses has come to its last page.”

and when asked about Ferrari the Italian said, “Ferrari without Schumacher and Brawn will be less competitive,”

“That’s normal when you lose people like them.”
