Frank Montagany to drive for Renault?

Rumors have surfaced surrounding the second Reanult F1 seat linking French driver Frank Montagany to drive along side Pole Robert Kubica. Montagany last drove for the Super Aguri team before their lack of funds forced them to withdraw mid season during the 2008 campaign.

After a couple of weeks of no news surrounding the Renault F1 team following the emergency board meeting which took place a few weeks ago, French driver Franck Montagny could be in line for the second Renault F1 seat in and partner Poland’s Robert Kubica in the coming 2010 season according to reports from a Canadian radio station.

Montagny claims there have been discussions with the Anglo-French team although talks are in the early stages and he admitted that he did not expect himself to be on the list of drivers wanted by the Renault team.This news comes after German driver Timo Glock was confirmed at new team Manor GP. Glock was widely tipped to claim the second seat in the Reanult team but has opted to go for the challenge of leading and building up one of the new teams on the grid for the 2010 season.Hopefully the Montagny rumours are true and that the Glock news is not an indication that the Renault is going to pull the plug on its F1 team after its emergency board meeting.
