Alonso: "It will be hard to repeat the podium"

Even if he was close to his home town of Oviedo, it was not possible to him to stop at home as he had some team commitments in the UK. Alonso mentioned that it was going to be quite hard to repeat the podium, in an attempt to bring down the euphoria that has been all over Spain since his magnificent performance this weekend with a pole and a podium position.

“It's going to be very difficult, almost impossible, to get on the podium again this season,” he told Onda Cero radio. “Our expectations remain as they were at the start of the season. We just have to continue working as we have been doing, whether the results are good or bad. There was no euphoria as far as I was concerned. The third place came about because the circuit suited us well throughout the weekend.”

Renault's car has proven to be quite reliable and fast in the first two races, and if the team can improve the performance of the engine, Renault could be on the top 3 of the WCC this season.

Work for the Brazilian GP started just after the Podium. The Chassis will fly from Sepang to Interlagos but fresh engine units will be sent from France.

Renault will not be testing on Barcelona this week due to its limited testing days but will take benefit from the 2 hours at the Interlagos Circuit on Friday morning.
