Mixed fortunes for Renault F1 drivers today. Alonso was quite satisfied for having finidhed 5th after starting 8th while his teammate, that finished 6th was dissapointed after starting on 4th. Alonso had a very strong race as he spent most of the afternoon fighting with Coulthard and Barrichello.

At the end, he was able to finish ahead of both as well as of his teammate in order to score 4 important points by finishing a strong 5th.

Alonso, that had a start of the weekend quite difficult, was happy for the end result:

"I think it was a quite good end to a difficult weekend for me, since I hadn't quite managed to get the maximum out of the car in practice and qualifying," said Alonso. "My fifth place is certainly a good result and I'm glad to have scored some points for the team and to be now third in the Drivers' Championship."

His teammate also had a difficult race and was able to maintain Coulthard and Barrichello at bay on its way to score an important 6th place finish. He was, however, not quite happy about the end result taken under consideration his expectations after qualifying 4th yesterday:

"A disappointing result for me, as I had been very competitive all weekend," said Trulli. "I pushed hard throughout the race but I got stuck in traffic and lost quite a lot of time behind the backmarkers and one position in my second pit stop. It's certainly not what I had expected from this race and the three points I got are a very small consolation."

Renault had high spectations for this race as they thought they could even win the race. However, the strong form of the Williams has prevented the Anglo-French squad to score another podium.
