The Renault F1 team has announced that Franck Montagny will be driving the team's thrird car in the next French GP. Franck Montagny is leading currentrly the Telefonica World Series by Nissan after having won in 5 out of the 6 races. This series is becoming an important showcase for Formula 1 drivers as Justin Wilson and Rocardo Zonta, now with Minardi and BAR, raced there last year.

Montagny was indeed thrilled with the challenge ahead:

“First and foremost, I’m obviously thrilled the team has asked me to test at Magny-Cours, it will be an important race for the team, and a big challenge for me to do a good job – I still can’t quite believe that I will be preparing to run in just two weeks’ time! Magny-Cours is a circuit I know very well, and I have already won twice this year on the modified layout. It’s a great opportunity for me to perform in front of the French fans, and I’m looking forward to participating in a Grand Prix weekend for the first time.”

This year, two drivers who have been in Formula 1, Marc Gené and Enrique Bernoldi are competing on the series.

Allan McNish, who is Renault 3rd driver will resume his testing duties on Fridays after the French Grand Prix.
