Jarno Trulli once agian was able to run a perfect lap as he set the 4th best time on Saturday's Qualifying session. Fernando Alonso, however, continued with his lack of luck as his car experienced brake problems and was running 8 kph slower than Trulli. Alonso therefore finished 8th, more than 0.8 seconds behind his teammate.

The session was dominated once again by Williams BMW with both Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Shcumacher on the front row. The Colombian nows he has to win this race to be a challange for the Championship.

Rubens Barrichello finished 3rd followed by Jarno Trulli and Kimi Raikkonen.

Trulli was obviously quite pleased with the performance of his car and his lap:

"It was a pretty busy day, but the result is a good fourth place in qualifying. We tested a lot of things during the different sessions, and the car is well balanced. I am pretty confident that our race pace tomorrow will be competitive." He said.

Michael Schumacher could only set the 6th best time ahead of the Toyota of Olivier panis and the Renault of Alonso.

Alonso could not understand the reasons behind his lack of pace just after his lap:

"I had a clean lap but, in the end, it wasn't particularly quick. I didn't make any mistakes and I was relatively pleased with the car's handling. However, the lap time just wasn't there: we now have to take a long hard look at the data to understand where the problem is." Said the Spaniard.

Pat Symonds tried to find a reason for his poor time:

"Fernando had a problem with his car that seriously compromised his ability to qualify well. At the moment we are not sure what it is, but as he is eight kph slower on the straight, and because we have also seen a problem with the braking system, we will start looking there. In terms of the race, we still feel very confident with our tyre choice. Of course, it will be on the limit, but that is what racing is all about!"

David Coulthard continued to struggle on the qualifying sessions and could only finish 10th best behind Cristiano da Matta.
