Trulli reporting improvement of R24!

The Italian F1 driver completed yesterday 64 laps to the track of Jerez with his R24 with the aim of continuing to improve the reliability and the handling of the car. The Italian finished the day second with a time of 1.17.874 very close to the BAR of Jenson Button who set the best time of the day with a 1.17.728.

Pat Symonds, Executive Director of Engineering, was quite satisfied at the end of the day:

"We had a positive first day at Jerez, completing 64 laps with the new car in spite of a small few niggles. Jarno reported improved performance over the kerbs and was very positive in his feedback. Franck completed useful tyre work for Melbourne, and tomorrow's programme for the R24 will build upon his conclusions."

Jarno's main task during the test was to run a set-up programme focusing mainly on suspension settings. Franck Montagny was hard working with tyres on the R23B that will be used today by Trulli on a race distance simulation by the Italian on the R24.
