Trulli and Alonso stop in Singapore

Both Renault F1 drivers, Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso have stopped at Singapore in their way to Malaysia to take part in a charity function. Both drivers spent last week training at the Maldives Islands and on their way to Kuala Lumpur they have stopped by in Singapore. During their short stay they attended the presentation of the Renault Megane Coupé and Cabriolet cars as well as took part on a charity event to collect money for the Leukemia and Lymthoma Foundation for children suffering from leukaemia. The patron of the Foundation is Mrs. Goh Chok Tong, wife of the Singapore Prime Minister.

The event was a success as 23.000$ were donated for the cause.

“We were more than happy to make use of our profile to raise money for this cause,” said Alonso. “It is a fantastic privilege to be part of Formula 1, and an event like this really reminds us how lucky we are. I am pleased that this auction was able to make a meaningful contribution to the hospital.”

Both drivers landed at Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday afternoon and went straight to the track to meet with their engineers and to start to inspect the track.
