Alonso unhappy with team mistake

Spanish driver Fernando Alonso was not pleased with the decision by his team to top up his tanks and fill him up until the end of the race after the second stop. Talking to the Spanish press after the race the Spaniard showed his confusion over the strategy done by his team. Alonso explained how it went:

"When I was able to overtake (Coulthard) I did nothave any fuel left on the car. Our strategy at the start it was nothing similar to what we ended up doing and I do not know why we changed it. They did not warn me, we (the drivers) are always pushing hard and they (the technicians) are the ones who decide" Said Alonso. "Yesterday it was my mistake and today it was theirs. It is true that maybe I wouldn't have finished better. Maybe in front of Coulthard, sixth, that it wouldn't have been bad. I lost a point beacause of it."
