John Surtees hopes nobody unsettles Trulli!

Former Formula 1 World Champion John Surtees hopes that Jarno Trulli is undisturbed by speculations about his future. Trulli made the headlines 10 days ago after setting the pole and winning the prestigious and demanding Monaco Grand Prix. The Italian driver is currently 4th on the standings and has scored 36 points this season against the 25 scored by his highly valued teammate Fernando Alonso.

However, after he won the race Team Manager Flavio Briatore said to Autosport Online that the Italian had to continue to impress in order to remain at Renault for 2005.

John Surtees has asked Briatore on the Vodafone web page to leave Trulli aalone and to let the Italian flourish in what has become his best start of the season on his 7 years in the sport.

"I am always somewhat wary of what appears in the press. So I am hopeful that all the rumoured speculation that appeared prior to the Nurburgring reference Jarno Trulli and his future is just that. This is no time for Flavio Briatore or anyone else to unsettle Jarno just as he is becoming a complete race driver and able to have the right mental approach to put a race together rather than just a fast lap. But at this vital stage of his career, what he needs is stability so that he can just concentrate on getting the job done." Surtees said.
