Renault F1 Managing Director Flavio Briatore is sure to win the World Championship in 2005 with Renault in 2005. In an interview published in the German Newspaper “Bild” the Italian is very clear about Renault’s objectives in 2005. “…next year we will beat Ferrari. That’s for sure. In 2005 the domination of Ferrari will come to an end. All the things that we lack nowadays will be overcome. I believe we will have what is needed to beat them: engine, chassis and tyres.” He said.

Briatore also talked about Trulli’s ecit from the team and he was highly critical of the Italian driver:

“I do not care what people outside the team thinks because they are not in te team like I am. In our team everyone works 100%. If a driver comes without desire… I don’t know what was in his head, I only see the performance and they were not good enough, so we had to fire him.” He added.

Truli on the other hand believes that Jacques Villeneuve’s lack of pace at Shangai proved him right:

"I must thank Villeneuve for his honesty: he could have said that he drove an exceptional car, but instead he said nothing but what I've been saying for a long time." Trulli said in an interview to Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper. "I saw myself in Jacques: a struggling driver with difficulties, even though he was returning in F1 after a long time off and nothing more could be asked of him."

Jarno believes he has no blame on Renault loosing second place on the Constructor Championship despite failing to score since The French Grand Prix:

"I have no responsibility if the second place in the Constructors' Championship is now difficult for them to obtain." He added.

Both Alonso and Villeneuve complained about lack of rear grip on the R24 at Shangai though Alonso was able to finish 4th on that race scoring 5 points for the team.
