The E specification engine that was introduced by the Mild seven Renault F1 team seems to be doing the business with claiming the front row of the grid in China and pushing Renault closer to the Mclaren in terms of pace. In the final race of the year the Renault F1 team have introduced their E specification engine in order to claim their second championship of the year, the constructors, after previously capturing the drivers title with Spaniard Fernando Alonso in the Brazilian Grand Prix. This is another development in Renaults long line of developments they have inroduced this season in order to maintain their competatie edge and win races.

The new engine, "RS25E" is a new more powerful engine than the previous one and an interesting outcome of introducing it now is that it only has to last one race as it is the final race of the season. This means in the race they can really take it to the Mclaren without fear of it harming them in the next race in terms of a grid penalty or a failure.

This is what Renaults head of operations had to say about the introduction of the RS25E “It gives us a better overall performance package. Which means, not only is it an intrinsically more powerful engine, but it gives us more options in how we use the engine over the race weekend.” It’s just one more ingredient to throw into the mix of the title showdown…

With Raikkonen on his second race on his current engine and pushing all the way in the last race its an interesting factor going into tomorows race with the constructors title on the line.

The new engine seems to have served the team already with Fernando Qualifying on pole position and Giancarlo finishing in second making it an all Renault front row, which has been the teams first in 2005 and first since 2002.
