With rumours of Renault's Finish driver Heikki Kovalinen taking the second BMW seat could this lead to a return to Renault for French Driver Franck Montagny?
Roumours are speculating that planned Mild Seven Renault f1 2006 third driver Heikki Kovalainen who was runner up in this years GP2 title might be going to the new BMW F1 team to occupy the second race seat along side German Nick Heidfled. BMW is looking like prefering Heikki Kovalainen over Canadian Jacques Villeneuve who claims he has a contract with the team as they bought his contract when they bought the Sauber team.
So with Kovalainen possibly moving to BMW could this mean a return to the 2006 constructors champions for Franck Montagny? He had earlier been dumped by the Renault team and replaced for 2006 but this could be all changed. He will now be testing the Renault in December and could end up as 2006 official test driver after saying he was looking for a race drive next season.
"Renault told me that it was finished between us. But they called me to ask if I could drive in December. I wasn't supposed to be with them next year but here I am developing their car!"
