Mild Seven Renault F1 began their testing for the 2006 season today in Spain, Barcelona with their French driver Franck Montagny returning to the cockpit to begin the testing for next years car the R26.
With the 2005 season over with and Renault claiming the world constructors championship and the drivers title they have started testing and looking forward to the 2006 season and developing the new R26 which will be used in there mission to defend their newly won titles.
Franck Montagny was the man on testing duty today doing a total of 31 laps and claiming second position on the time sheets behind the BAR honda of jenso Button. Renault were using the V1 engine in this test as the V8 is not as of yet finished. Although this will be done at the begining of next year and is on schedule.
Argentinian Jose Maria Lopez was also testing for the Renault team today and managed to record the 5th best time of the day.
