Chris Vermeulen misses a Honda MotoGP test - again

Chris Vermeulen, the very likeable young Australian, who we reported last month had to cancel his first ride on a Honda RC211V, has unfortunately had to cancel his second opportunity to ride the machine at Jeréz, the circuit where Honda were winter testing.

Chris, who took the World Superbike series by storm - and earned himself an even bigger British fan base - won four races in the series for the Ten Kate Honda team and ended up fourth overall in the standings - an impressive first year by anyone’s standards!

Injuring his wrist in the penultimate round at Imola - the scaphoid injury is a very common one for riders when they fall - Chris had an operation but, because of this, and the wrist not healing quickly, it was unfortunate that Chris could not make it for the second test ride.

Winter testing has now been banned from the 1st of December until 20th January 2005, and Honda is planning a new date for Chris to make his début on the Honda RC211V.
