James Haydon rejoins the Rizla Suzuki team

It came as no surprise that Rizla Suzuki signed James Haydon today, taking the place vacated by Scott Smart - who left the team a few days ago after not securing the places expected of him after not getting to grips with the Suzuki in British Superbike racing this year.

James already has experience of the Suzuki when he stood in for the injured John Reynolds at Oulton Park and Mondello Park, where he recorded the best finish by a Rizla Suzuki this year by attaining a fourth place. Prior to those outings, James took five Superbike race wins for Crescent Suzuki over the period of 1998-1999.

A very impressive performance by James, who can get astride any machine and get the best out of it from the off. James will now be attending the Donington Park test day alongside John Reynolds - a former team-mate - before the next round at Knockhill.

James said, “I am honoured to have been asked to join Rizla Suzuki, and want nothing more than to repay them with race wins. Racing for the team for two rounds this year really has whetted my appetite - I really enjoyed myself and this is a dream come true.”
