Maria Costello’s misfortune at Mallory Park

Maria Costello took part in the Hinckley Island Hotel 600cc open race at Mallory Park last weekend. Unfortunately, whilst she was in sixth position and fighting for fifth during the latter stages, rider Robert Wardle fell in front of her at the hairpin and Maria collided with the rider and machine.

Fortunately, neither were not too badly injured, and Maria came out in the following part of the races. Robert Wardle, although injured, was helped to the ambulance looking like he had sustained some broken ribs. Hopefully that is all and he will make a full recovery.

When Maria got to her feet her immediate concern was for Robert, and she went over to him to ensure he was OK. Best wishes to Robert and get well soon.
